You may have seen our faces already in admissions communications or your mailbox, or maybe you already know about co-ops and Career Fairs and factored them into your decision to come to Clarkson. We do help with what you might expect when you hear “Career Center,” like resumes, cover letters, and job searching, but we are also available to help with the tougher questions that surround career decisions too!
Figuring out what you enjoy and how you’d like to impact the world around you are big questions, but they aren’t questions that you have to answer alone! Exploration is one of the most important (and most fun) parts of college life, and we’re here to coach you through making intentional career decisions and establishing actionable goals for your future.
What does the Career Center do?
Documents and Pitches: including resumes, cover letters, interviews, offers and negotiations, elevator pitches, personal statements, and networking prep.
Professional Growth and Branding: career and major exploration, online presence, internship/co-op/job search strategy, peer career advising, alumni mentorships and connections, one-on-one career coaching.
Events and Happenings: career fairs, workshops, lunch and learns, discovery sessions, etiquette dinners, boot camps, and more!
What is Handshake?
Handshake is a recruiting platform for students and alumni, and one of our best tools for connecting you with jobs, internships, co-ops, and employment opportunities that interest you. You can also make an appointment with one of our coaches by logging in to your Handshake account (clarkson.joinhandshake.com) and signing in with your Clarkson username and password. Once you’re logged in, click in the right-hand corner on “Career Center.” Then select “Appointments,” and pick the time that works best for you.
